Quiet Country Get-a-Way

Gail and Ralph provide a haven of peace and serenity in a world that is 24/7. Here is a place you can breathe the country air, have farm fresh eggs after a refreshing and deeply relaxing slumber on a sleep numbered bed. Scientists do acknowledge a correlation between natural light and our immune system. When was the last time you just sat and took in the sounds of the country? Shady Acres Bed and Breakfast in Hanover, VA is just the sort of place to relax and unwind.
In addition to the bucolic setting, Gail and Ralph provide wireless Internet and a flat-screen TV...however, for this couple; we wanted to unplug, even if for a day. We feel we made friends, as echoed by other reviewers. They are authentic and strive to make sure your comfort is their priority. We were very privileged to join them and a few of their friends for a brief time around their fire pit before we headed to the historical tavern for supper.
When we arrived back, right as the sun was displaying a gorgeous sunset, we spend time with Gail and Ralph in a conversation around the pit. Within your room, you will find fresh flowers grown on the grounds and chocolates or a treat. There is a fridge downstairs with water and soda if needed. We also really enjoyed the chickens and two roosters and learning about their very human-like personality traits. We will be back when we can spend more than one night. Blessings to everyone- Gail, Ralph, Walker, Lily, and all the clutches of chickens. Thanks for giving us a night of respite!!

We give Shady Acres Bed and Breakfast 5 stars all around for rooms, cleanliness, hospitality, service & value!
